About Katie
Katie began practice as an architect in Boston. Curious and systems-oriented, O’Meara’s design explorations led to a broader view of architecture and as she considered how the the historical context and physical setting of the built environment informed and reformed itself. Through archaeology, landscape and society, O’Meara has studied the links of making and place, people and settlement. This exploratory cycle of thinking and making led O’Meara quite naturally into an academic setting, one particularly suited to reflection, research and creative practices of all kinds.

Current themes
Katie O’Meara’s design and research practice explores the interactions of social, urban and environmental systems. Whether in synch or at odds, understanding these dynamics informs good building, landscape and urban design and environmental planning.
