Greening strategies are linking systems to connect shrinking areas with the mainstream social and economic networks in the city, using new greening projects, protecting and expanding forest patches and creating more, safer and nicer bike routes to provide access to work, culture and recreation.
Replacing blighted sites with a mosaic of green spaces can create an enhanced environment to connect isolated areas and invigorate interest, growth and interaction across currently severed communities.
